Rock & Republic, Spring/Summer 2009 New York Fashion Week

Other designers may be more haute, edgy or sophisticated, but Rock & Republic's show is always an unabashed fun time. Some seasons the line's unwavering commitment to bombshell sexuality appears awkwardly out of sync, but with an aggressive sexuality theme currently running through London's fashion scene, Rock & Republic's Spring showing was on point. Models with sleek, shiny hair and smoky eyes stomped down the runway sporting sky-high stilettos and bandage dresses, all the things that highlight and exaggerate their otherworldly proportions. Ruffled minidresses- and we're talking mini- in black and white were scene stealers especially on Chanel Iman and Du Juan. Sticking to the grey-scale theme, the line also stayed true to their denim roots by showing jeans tight enough to be leggings with nouveau washes including a grey and white cracked finish that would be perfect with a basic tee.
