PRPS Women's Fall collection
Hermès, Fall 2008 ready to wear

The house of Lanvin just released a new perfume inspired and named after the founder Jeanne Lanvin. The campaign features Ali Michael, the young Texan model who earlier spoke out against the modeling industry's unhealthy weights after being rejected from Paris runways. She's back in full force and looking glam in frothy pink ruffles. Especially with looks of the season that features more ribbon details and again, ruffles, Lanvin looks like they may be tapping the younger set. I scoped out Bergdorf's last weekend and they said they would be getting a second shipment of Lanvin after Labor Day. Keep your eyes and wallets peeled.
In other news, WWD mentions that Hermès profits are still going strong. Guess some brands are recession proof.
Also on WWD, and as I've chatted about earlier about the new boyfriend jean, lighter destroyed washes are back. What goes around comes around. A new favorite of mine, PRPS, uses Japanese Selvedge denim. PRPS used to be exclusively a men's but, now has women's at Barney's.
Folks are filtering back into the city undoubtedly after relaxing summer vacays. I just saw Alexander Wang on the streets in Soho the other day. Fashion Week is only a week away!
The skies are cloudy today but the U.S. Open continues. Considering Anna Wintour is such a tennis fan, chances are investing in some cute tennis whites will be right on cue for Labor Day.
